Witnessing Crime (Vladimir/Cecillia)

Nearing evening along the trail to Bangor, small picket signs were soon displayed as Vladimir and Cecillia were soon arriving to the town. Relieved in how well the horse did and the carriage holding up, Vlad looked around the agriculture area remembering reading of Bangor being high in producing lumber. Arriving at last to the town seeing very little life knowing the time, he sighed finding a gassy area to stop then looked towards Cecillia “I suppose we’ll have to wait till the morning dear to get this package.” Seeing her have a look of disappointment, Vlad ignored it gathering what he could, hoping to find an inn nearby. Rubbing his eyes from exhaustion, he glanced towards Cecillia feeling the same way then smirked, “Quite a different town two centuries later isn’t?”

As he led the way grasping her hand, trying to find any distinction of shelter, Vladimir soon turned his head hearing sudden commotion. Glaring down grasping Cecillia tighter he spoke, “Did you hear something?”

Staying close to Vladimir as she looked around where they were standing, Cecillia too heard sudden commotion, thinking it perhaps came from the shop beside of them. Feeling as though Vladimir was going to step over to investigate, Cecillia clutched his arm, worried. "You know, maybe we shouldn't get involved? I hate to know what else could go wrong," she spoke, then widened her eyes as a man who closely resembled Simon flew out of the antique shop. "Watch out Vladimir," Cecillia yelled as Vladimir spun around, only to be knocked down onto the hard street by the rushing man.

Feeling instantly being trampled to the ground, Vladimir shook off the impact, suddenly really tired of his life then glared back at the man on top of him, “Just what is the meaning of this?” Having Cecillia help him up as the man responsible too got up he sneered, “Who are you . . .” as the tall man now towered over both of him, he gasped, “Simon? Is it really you?” Not getting a response as instantly a approaching the man took off but Vlad soon without thinking ran after him, “Wait please!” managing to grab his cloak as but soon found he was jostled by him then sent to the ground.

Breathing hard coughing slightly Vladimir soon found Cecillia by him then looked up seeing the man run off into the wooded area. “It was Simon I know it was him!” Sighing he turned his head finding a box that the man must have dropped, “What is this?” he glared examining it. Too soon of getting a response, the two tensed instantly hearing cries of men beginning to approach them. Realizing soon that the man that looked like Simon must have been a burglar Vlad widened his eyes as they were soon targeted as doing it.

Fearing that they would soon get in trouble if they didn't run away, which would make them look even more suspicious, Cecillia glared back at the authorities, then instantly felt Vladimir take her hand as the two bolted off. "Where are we going to go Vladimir," Cecillia spoke, instantly feeling her feet begin to hurt in the unruly shoes she was wearing. "I really hate this time," she cried out, as the two reached what appeared to be a dead end, the only place to go being up to a porch which was about six or so foot from the ground. Knowing the men were close to their trail and that they likely wouldn't have time to get back, Cecillia looked to Vladimir, worried; "what now?"

Knowing the last thing he wanted to deal with was the authorities, Vladimir after leading the way only towards a dead end, stared up towards the porch putting the box down then tried to pull himself up but failed. Out of breath and tired wishing not to be in such a mess all the while knowing for sure the lawmen were coming, he then took hold of Cecillia, “Climb on my shoulders dear you will be able to get on the porch then.” Doing so relieved that she made it, Vlad passed her the package then soon tried again to pull himself up. Hearing only then the men call he screamed, “Quickly Cecillia!” Quickening his pace while happy that he managed to get up with Cecillia’s help, the two continued to run soon finding an abandoned alley to rest.

Sitting on a barrel, leaning against a wall, Vladimir smiled towards Cecillia, “Such an adventure we’re having aren’t we?” Shaking his head he looked down towards the package, “What do you suppose is in that box?”

Holding the box in her hands, Cecillia looked over it, trying to see what she could, and at last recognized the lid. "I've seen this box before . . ." Cecillia spoke, looking up at Vladimir. "I've seen it before some time and I know that it is important . . . it has to be!" Trying to open the box herself, but felt not strong enough, she handed it to Vladimir, watching as he then tried to open it. Sitting in mere hope and anticipation as she then saw the box quickly pop open. Feeling cold and as though she was going to be sick, Cecillia suddenly found that she no longer was sitting in some alley in Bangor, but instead back in her own bedroom with her head on Vladimir's shoulder, where she had last been.

Puzzled nothing more by the box all the while feeling to the same effects after managing to open it, Vlad soon found himself in a deep sleep. Hearing then himself breathing, Vladimir suddenly woke looking around the room. “We’re back?” he whispered, looking down at Cecillia still asleep then himself at his articles of clothing. Glancing at the time on the wall, he was baffled that only a half hour had past since he was here. Wanting to know for sure Vlad locked his eyes on the dresser seeing a mirror. Looking into it he grinned slightly knowing he was back to his immortal self.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Vladimir grinned back to Cecillia gathering his cloak. Seeing the book his brother gave to her, he examined it surprised that it was written by a young Mary Collins. Smiling shaking his head he stroked Cecillia’s cheek then whispered, “It was quite a memorable adventure with you dear one.” Placing the book near her he smiled, “Thank you for everything, good night.” Sighing, then turning her lights off, Vlad vanished from the room, returning back to the Old House. Entering through the house, he looked towards the drawing room seeing his brother and wife together as they approached him. Grinning he embraced them both happy to be back.
